So I slept really rough on Friday night—tossing and turning—and then I guess I finally fell asleep and slept through my alarm for my group run! Epic fail.
I was discouraged and frustrated and tired from lack of sleep. I really didn’t want to run at all. Nope, not one bit. My amiga Casie posted this and it really inspired me. I could come up with a hundred excuses or I could see the positive and keep moving forward.
Nate and I hung out like bums until he had to go to work which was amazing. And then I “suited up” for my 13 miles.
Looking good. I packed a water bottle, my “fanny pack”, honey stingers, and 4 dates. Um, and my jacket is laying really weird; I promise I don’t have that many lumps. haha!
I decided to run around Gull Lake which is 12 miles and then tack on a little after that to make it 13. Running around the lake was a beautiful decision.
This is a channel off the lake I had never seen before; I love the color of the water here.
And the golf course, which is pretty swanky or so I hear.
There are lots of nice and incredibly expensive homes around the lake…I mean our side is nice too…but not as nice as some other places. There are legit mansions. I thought this place was a modest choice; I’m sure we could make them an offer they couldn’t refuse.
This was honestly, the most beautiful site on the run. I was out of water and needing the facilities. Thank God for Kollig’s Korner Market and their public restrooms!
The last days of winter…it’s such a pretty season…but I’m so ready for spring! I was also SO ready for the run to be over…I’d get exhausted but then I’d get a second wind. My mom called me twice and chatted with me which was so sweet and helped me keep my mind off how tired my legs and feet were.
After the run I noticed I had a few blisters, which I blame on poor sock choice, but I didn’t feel them during the run so that was good. I feel like my form breaks down when I’m tired which also contributes to the blisters. I’ve decided to forgo the sweaty post-run picture and leave you with this instead.
