30 Best Devotionals for Christian Women

Today we’re exploring the 30 Best Devotionals for Women Who Long to Grow Their Faith. Having daily devotions, a time where Christians read God’s Word and spend time with the Lord through prayer and worship, is a vital part of their spiritual walk.

What are devotionals?

Devotionals are short, daily readings which generally include a Bible verse or verses along with personal stories, a more detailed explanation of the passage, and application thoughts. Many close with guided prayers and thought-provoking questions. They are generally a bit smaller in size than regular trade books or Bible studies.

When compared to a Bible study they usually:

  • Take less time.
  • Don’t have areas for your own writing or reflection.
  • Don’t challenge you to dig into Scripture passages on your own or look for your own information or guide you in learning how to do so. This can be the largest drawback of reading devotionals as your only source of spiritual growth!

The Benefits of Reading Devotionals

But devotionals are not without benefits!

Reading a daily devotional can help you develop a daily quiet time habit and provide spiritual nourishment from God’s Word when you are in busy seasons or if you are new to your faith and feel unsure about how to study the Bible on your own.

I found reading short devotionals was perfect for me when my children were babies and toddlers. I could sit down for 10 minutes while they were playing or napping and quickly have a “gold nugget” of spiritual truth or encouragement to take with me throughout my day.
