A Day in the Life and Meijer Gift Card Giveaway

A day in the life post is something I love to read–I guess because I’m a little bit nosy! And I like to know if people do similar things to what I do!

7:00 am–Up to workout. Since I’m doing the Advocare 24 Day Challenge I get some Spark and take my probiotic and catalyst. I go to the gym at our camp to do a strength workout. It takes about 30 minutes and then I head home.

I head home to shower and get ready for the day. I have mastered my 30 minute “mom” shower, hair and makeup routine! Then I start some breakfast, oatmeal with berries and scoop of protein powder.

Layla wakes up around 8:30 and gets some breakfast too. She’s such a sweet and silly girl.

After breakfast I get Layla around and we head into town to get groceries. I normally make two stops at Aldi for essential stock up and Meijer for produce and everything else!

While at Meijer I grab some new-to-me frozen produce from Birds Eye. I got two steam fresh protein blends southwest style vegetable packs. I’m excited to try this out as a side and to use it in some recipes this week!

Meijer is a store I could get lost in so by the time we get wrapped up and head home it is almost noon and Layla is losing her mind a little. I feed her a banana in line as we check out to tide her over.

We get home and eat a quick lunch of PB&J for her and leftover soup and chicken for me. Then I lay Miss Layla down for her nap. It is much needed at this point.

After that I collect myself for an afternoon of work. I clean the bathroom real quick and then settle in for some blogging and camp work. I work on some various projects and promotion until Layla wakes up at 4:00.

We head to the playground at camp for some playing and walking then meet Nate back at home in time to prep some dinner for the grill. I swear we are going to just grill all summer. I love that you can mix up burgers so many different ways.

We eat and hang out as a family and then put Layla down for bed. In the evening Nate and I chill together, we are finishing the last season of Parks & Rec–love that show! We turn in a little later than usual, closer to 12 than 11. And then it all starts again tomorrow!

  1. We would incorporate the new steamfresh sides in with grilled chicken burgers and really everything, I have a couple people here that would make lunch out of just them.

  2. I have used something similar to the Birds Eye sides. They make a nice quick veggie to serve alongside a main dish and salad. I also like that they have protein included. So healthy. I will give them a try.

  3. I would make Indian Curry Chicken soup with naan bread! I’ve had Birds Eye veggies before, and they’re delicious:)

  4. I love frozen veggies! It’s awesome to see that birds eye has blends now…my little guy loves flavors and veggies are always a win in our house!! I would definitely try to make a quinoa based fried rice!

    1. Oooh! Great choice! I love that Payton loves veggies….Layla is the fruit queen but veggies are pretty hit or miss. I just keep putting them in front of her and one day she’ll like them. 😛

  5. I have used the birds eye veggies as a side before. Would love to try the new protein packs. It’s always nice to have new things to incorporate into the meal plan!
