Best Chicken Marinade of Your Life
Yes, this is the best chicken marinade of your life. I know, it’s an impressive claim, but it will truly change your soul in the best way possible. Sometimes chicken does that.
Especially chicken that is moist and flavorful, grilled up with your favorite people and enjoyed together around a table where conversation and memories flow and there is always room for one more person to squeeze in.
This recipe is adapted from the Amish Country Cookbook Volume 1.
Best Chicken Marinade of Your Life
A deliciously simple chicken marinade perfect for summer grilling.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup water
- 1 1/2 cup malted vinegar (or plain vinegar is fine)
- 2 Tablespoons salt
- 1 Tablespoon pepper
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 t garlic
- 1 1/2 Tablespoon worcestershire sauce
- 2 Tablespoons dried onion flakes
- 4 Chicken breasts
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients and simmer over low heat. Place chicken in marinade and refrigerate at least 3 hours, but the longer the better. (Overnight works great!) Grill over medium heat, brushing occasionally with leftover marinade. Check temperature with meat thermometer; when breast reaches 165 degrees remove from grill and serve.
Fire up the grill, baby!

Sounds yummy, I will have to give it a try!
Thanks for sharing.
I love chicken and I’m always on the lookout for a new way to eat it.
My favorite chicken marinade is probably my orange chicken recipe. I will pin this to try it, though.
MMmmm orange chicken sounds good!!
I just wanted to tell you that I finally made this chicken marinade and I loved it!
I love how much pepper is in it.
Thank you so much for sharing the recipe.
I did sub cider vinegar instead of malted because I didn’t have malted on hand, but I feel confident I stayed true to the recipe.
Isn’t it good! I’m glad to know it worked for you. 🙂
This sounds awesome. I usually buy a jar of Light Italian dressing and use that as marinade.
That’s always an easy and quick option. I do that with teriyaki sauce and call it good. I promise the little bit of extra time is worth it for this though!
yum! i’ll need to try this!!
