Friday Loves

Hey friends! Hope you’ve had a fabulous week! Just thought I’d share some of my favorite things I’ve read/seen/bought/done this week.

5 must-haves to get your workout groove back after baby – Love these simple tips (plus a running playlist!). I think the one thing I’ve realized after my previous pregnancy is that I need to have a plan, but it needs to be simple so I don’t burn out.

I recently read this book, A Bridge Across the Ocean, and it was an interesting summer read. Part (non-scary) ghost story and part historical fiction and part mystery, I found it on this great summer reading list.

Like most people we’ve been spending a lot of time outside recently in the glorious early summer weather.   We’ve been putting a lot of miles on our little red wagon walking around the neighborhood. I also planted annuals this week, hoping I can keep them watered and flourishing.

While on the way back from our vacation in Traverse City we stopped in Hudsonville at The Found Cottage and got this lovely welcome sign from Feather and Birch. It feels good to fill our home with things we truly love. I think that was the biggest thing I got from reading The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up (aka KonMari method): get rid of and don’t buy more stuff you don’t love.

I kind of adore these little pineapple studs. I’ve gotten a couple things from this shop and loved them!

This morning Layla came running up to me and exclaimed, “I want to read from my Bible about Jesus, mom!” *heartmelting* She mostly likes to read from The Jesus Storybook Bible and she prefers the New Testament stories about Jesus. It’s precious.

We are in the full swing of summer camp training right now which is fun, but also exhausting. I’m relearning to rely on the Lord for daily strength, patience and sense of humor. Ironically enough, it is the same lessons I learned 10 summers ago as a summer staffer, just morphed into a different shape as a mom (in much the same way my body has).

Anyways….so that’s me this week. This weekend we are off to the wedding of one of my oldest and dearest friends. She’s a beautiful gal with a beautiful soul and I can’t wait to celebrate with her!
