First off on this Friday Loves edition I love my daddy!! And today is his birthday!
Happy Birthday, Dad! Yup, my dad is pretty great. And smart, cause he married my mom! haha!
Okay what else do I love this week? Honestly it’s been a tough one, and I hope it will be awhile before we have another one similar. It’s hard to think positively but I’m confident in the strength and resiliency of the American people.
Love for Boston:
10 Touching Acts of Kindness at the Boston Marathon will bring tears to your eyes. Sometimes I think about a day like Boston and wonder how I could ever bring a child into this dark world, but when I read about people like this I’m reminded there are good people, “the helpers”, full of selflessness and kindness and it gives me hope.
Runs, T-shirts, and Support of the running community. I’m so stunned by all the photos, races, money being donated, and people being honored. It makes me happy to be a runner.
This post by Patton Oswalt was amazing! “So when you spot violence, or bigotry, or intolerance or fear or just garden-variety misogyny, hatred or ignorance, just look it in the eye and think, “The good outnumber you, and we always will.”
Love for Blogs
Melissa Bender Fitness: Don’t know how I didn’t find this gal before now! She has great workouts, tons of videos, and full month workout breakdowns! I did a killer full body workout of hers on Monday.
This is actually a recipe I found on A Beautiful Mess for Smashed Raspberry Lemonade. Now tell me can you just smell the chicken on the grill, the corn on the cob as you sip down on one of these beauties!
Also I’m officially on Bloglovin’! For the longest time I’ve followed blogs via a folder in my bookmark bar. I know, I know, but it worked..for awhile. I like everything in one easy website and then I don’t forget blogs I like to read.
Love for Everything Else
I’m spending a lot of time on the bike; I’m not exactly loving it, but I love that it is keeping my cardio fitness up while I rehab my IT band! Same goes for the foam roller—I’ve literally cried out in pain, but I’m feeling so much looser so I love it.
MyFitnessPal is getting some love today for keeping me on track! I don’t love tracking calories, but I do love the freedom that accountability gives me—to enjoy that brownie without guilt, since I have the calories for it.
And a little bit of extra special love for our Zensah Compression Sock winner Shauna Carr!! Yay Shauna! Happy Friday to you!!
Do you use a blog reader? Which one?
Most people tell me I look a lot like my dad—do you look more like one parent?
