Wow! Welcome to Friday! This kind of feels like it has been a bit of a long week. I don’t know what I’m going to do when I stop my daily naps! Ha! Nate and I really don’t have much planned this Labor Day weekend, he has to work the late shift at work so we’ll see if we can cook up any fun! Hope you have some good stuff planned to say goodbye to summer.
Doing More AND Doing Less with Technology by the Lindsay at the Lean Green Bean. I really appreciated this look at the positive and negative ways technology affects our lives. It some ways it’s great—and it some ways it kind of sucks. I’m trying to find a productive balance myself. My favorite was this video. It just made me feel sad for the life we miss hiding behind our phones.
Pregnancy Core Exercises by Amanda from Fit Pregnancy and Parenting. This chick got back to her pre-pregnancy body like movie star fast. It’s almost unbelievable. She credits her rapid return to her pre-pregnancy weight with her workouts which she did throughout pregnancy (I’m sure good genes don’t hurt either). In any case, I’m going to start incorporating some of her moves in my strength workouts.
Comfort food. If you look at my pinterest Food board it won’t take you long to figure out I’ve been craving comfort food. Like creamy enchiladas, banana nut bread, chicken and noodles, sour cream cookies….oh yeah. I think it’s partly fall and partly pregnancy, but even when I eat this stuff I never have the appetite for a lot–just a normal to small portion. But honestly… I would fight someone for a bowl of my mom’s potato soup and a thick slab of her homemade bread hot from the oven dripping with butter. And another piece dripping with strawberry jam.

I’m also slightly currently obsessed with The Savvy Bump right now! There are lots of baby deals, plus budget friendly tips for setting up a nursery, and getting the things you need for a baby without going overboard. It’s been super-helpful as we think through our tight budget and living quarters as it relates to our newest family member’s arrival. I’m so excited to have our baby’s cute face with us! (That’s my cute baby face below!)
And finally, just for laughs this: 27 Everyday Decisions Twentysomethings Are Really Bad at Making. I relate to too many of these! Ha! Especially trying to get the “wrinkled look” to be a thing.
Are you guilty of any of the 27 above—even if you’re not in your 20s?
How do you balance technology? Do you take a “day of rest” from tech devices?
What’s your favorite comfort food?
