This past week I had a memorable experience…one I had dreamed of since becoming pregnant and finding out I had a daughter.
I ran with my girl.
She was in the stroller for most of my run but the last half mile to a mile she got out and (with some rests) RAN WITH ME. My little lady has boundless energy and it was fun to channel that into running and to hear her encouraging me and so excited to run fast! It was precious! The video of us running together is over on my Instagram if you want to check it out and you should because it is adorable.
Self confidence has always been an amazing byproduct of running for me. Sometimes you just need to tighten up your ponytail, put on some girl power tunes, DO WORK, and go about your day armed with the power of accomplishment.
I love my girl power running playlist and thought I would share these awesome, empowering songs with you! I generally like to run to upbeat, FUN music, even though I generally pick chilled out music or country music to listen to most of the time otherwise. (Although I do have some kicking country music running playlists: Part 1 and Part 2). While working out I will definitely pick more uh, questionable “adult” music, *cougheminimemakesanappearancesometimescough* but probably my favorite music to workout to is my “girl power” music!
You can follow my Girl Power Running Playlist on Spotify!
Spotify has paid and free versions that let you listen to your favorite music anywhere. This isn’t a sponsored post or anything-we pay for premium and love it! It took me awhile to get the hang of building my favorite playlists, but now I love it and have quite a few “radio station” type playlists I follow as well like “Hot Country” and “New Music Wednesday”. Spotify does randomize playlists so I didn’t bother putting the order in any particular manner, but if I could or if you are putting this together on itunes here is the song choices in order.
Girl Power Running Playlist
