Grilled Italian Turkey Burgers
The other evening I was getting a little tired of our regular burgers so I decided one evening to whip up these Grilled Italian Turkey Burgers.
Grilling is basically an art form. One that my husband takes pretty seriously. (And one which, like many art forms, I know nothing about.) We originally started our married life with a rinky-dink $30 grill. To be honest, it didn’t do well and we never grilled a ton since it was so difficult to manage.
Enter the wife of the year who is both thoughtful and generous and gifted her husband with his dream grill for his birthday!
Yup! That’s this girl! Actually it was a slightly selfish present because it means less cooking for me! Win-Win.
Grilled Italian Turkey Burgers
Ingredients:
1/2 pound of lean ground turkey
1/4 cup whole wheat breadcrumbs
2 Tablespoons Parmesan cheese
1 Tablespoon Italian Seasoning (or 1 1/2 teaspoon basil, 1 teaspoon oregano, 1/2 teaspoon parsley)
2 teaspoons garlic powder
Directions:
Mix all ingredients well using a large spoon or just dig in and get your hands dirty! Form three balls with meat and press into patties. Dimple the center of each patty by making an indentation in the center with your thumb. Grill over medium heat approximately 15 minutes until desired level of “doneness”. Let rest 3-5 minutes. Serve with a sprinkle of mozzarella, spring greens, and a smear of sundried tomato basil spread. Absolutely delicious!
Are you a grill aficionado? I generally prep the meat and leave the grilling up to Nate; although I do some mean grilling on the Foreman!
