So it’s national running day today in case you don’t have any running buddies reminding you how awesome running is!
Running means a lot to me. I love it. I hate it. I love it some more.
So in honor of National Running Day I thought I’d share my favorite running posts with you!
All of these reasons are still incredibly true and are why I’ll never stop running!
I’ve come a long ways since that first 5K back in 2004. I chronicle my journey to becoming “a runner”.
Such a fun half marathon that I completed with my sister!!
I share from my heart about my IT Band injury that (eventually) forced me to defer my first marathon from this spring to next spring. I know I made the right decision, but it still makes me sad to read this post.
This 5K was special to me for two reasons: 1. It was my return to running after my IT Band injury. After my injury I was afraid I would never physically be able to run like I used to and even if I did I wouldn’t have the heart for it anymore after such a disappointment. My body healed and my desire to run never wavered. (Okay, there was a rough week there where I sat around a lot and ate cookies.) 2. It was my brother’s first 5K and I got to be there running beside him when he crossed the finish line! Part of my joy in running and living healthfully is inspiring others to do the same!
Are you a runner? Did it take you awhile to “feel” like one?
Why do you run?
