We spent the last week in Arkansas with family! We left last Sunday and drove to St. Louis where we stayed in a hotel for the night and got to revisit some of our favorite St. Louis spots from our vacation–Bailey’s Range and the St. Louis Zoo! We love that the zoo is FREE and they have such amazing animals! There were lots of Christmas lights up too which was fun! We have zoo jealousy if you live in STL!
After the zoo we drove over to Bailey’s Range near downtown St. Louis. Their burgers are holy good! So good that Nate couldn’t decide on a burger so he got both!
We stayed in St. Louis till about 2:00 and then finished up the rest of the drive to Arkansas. The next few days were spent hanging out with family and enjoying Thanksgiving. It’s fun to see Layla spending time with her cousins! She loved trying to keep up with the big boys!
On the day after Thanksgiving we visited Petit Jean State Park and had some fun exploring the outdoors!
On Saturday Nate and I had a shopping and lunch date! We went to Target, Barnes and Noble and Johnny Carinos (old Laredo favorite that we don’t have near us). Then we were up BRIGHT and EARLY on Sunday morning for a 14 hour drive home! Thankfully we made it safely and in good time, but it was a long day. Felt so good to be home!
I unpacked this morning and got groceries this afternoon so we are all ready for a great week ahead! Here is our meal plan for the week:
Monday: Buffalo Chicken Bowls (Nate was craving them all last week!)
Tuesday: Homemade Whole Wheat Pizza
Wednesday: Classic tacos made with my DIY taco seasoning
Thursday: Wassailing in Richland. This is one of my favorite Christmas traditions! A cute holiday event in our town square with Christmas carols, wassail, cookies, snacks, and fun put on by our town businesses. It’s so very Stars Hallow. (<<<bff if you get this reference, also only through one episode of the new Gilmore Girls!)
Friday: Cheddar Burgers
Saturday: Pulled Pork in the Crockpot
Sunday: Out and/or leftovers
Breakfasts: Oatmeal, smoothies, Greek yogurt, and toast.
