I’m sorry I’m not better at pithy titles. “What I did this weekend, what I’m planning to eat, how I’m planning to work out” was the alternate title, but I didn’t even want to read that. HA! This is definitely the post of the week that I write for myself: to help me plan and succeed in the week ahead. And give you all the chance of a lifetime to peek into my very exciting life, naturally.
First off, thank you all for listening to me spill about my marathon. You guys are the sweetest and just by sharing all of that I feel like I’m in such a better place emotionally with it. It will be awesome if I can pull it off—but if it isn’t in the cards right now, it isn’t in the cards. I know I was training my hardest and doing my best to prepare. That’s really all you can do and if physically my body says “no” at least I know it wasn’t my heart that gave in.
Also, remember how I had to skip the Winterblast Half for that bizarre infection? I’ve been thinking maybe there is some reason I’m supposed to NOT be running these races. Maybe God doesn’t want that for me now and I have to be okay with it. Not my will but His be done, even in running.
Yesterday was the most perfect day. Gorgeous blue skies, sunshine, and nothing special going on. I took a walk, checked out my flower beds, cleaned the house, sorted some stuff for a garage sale, and painted my nails. After Nate got off work we took our bikes to a local shop to get them both a tune-up before summer. I’m excited to get riding again!
After that we ran to Meijer’s to stock up on grilling supplies. For dinner we grilled corn and burgers and ate our first al fresco meal of the season. I just love eating outside, enjoying the warmer weather, and not having to be the cook.
This afternoon after a little R&R we are heading down to Indiana to spend tonight and tomorrow hanging out with my mom and dad and prepping for a garage sale. I love getting rid of junk!
Sunday: Enchilada Pie
Monday: at Mom and Dad’s
Tuesday: Homemade Boneless Buffalo Wings
Wednesday: Pork Chops in the crockpot
Thursday: at work
Friday: at work
Saturday: Possibly in Holland for the Tulip Festival!
This is so incredibly up in the air right now. I am going to see if I can run some this week, I have to make an official decision before May 1st. Otherwise my goal is for 5 completed workouts.
Are you a “Grillmaster”? If so, what’s your best grilling tip?
What workouts do you have planned this week?
