Weight Watchers Week 5

Well I am happy to report that during Weight Watchers week 5 I lost 1.6 pounds! Yay! If you read last week I gained almost a pound and that was super discouraging, but also motivating. It sucked yes, but it also was the swift kick in the butt that I needed to buckle down again and retool my routine.

What Went Well This Week:

This week I set my app so it looked like I only had 30 weekly points plus instead of 49. As of writing this at 8:30 Tuesday night, I still have 6 points of the 30 left, but I’m pretty sure I’m going to eat at least some of them. I also earned 19 activity points! Hot damn! My walks since it has warmed up have definitely helped up those activity points–and it doesn’t even feel like work! I love being outside walking and talking with my baby girl.

My workouts from this week:

Wednesday: Off

Thursday: Strength Training–this workout

Friday: My new kickboxing dvd! This was supposed to be a cardio workout, but I was sore everywhere the next day! (I used weighted gloves.)

10 min solution knockout body review

Saturday: Off/Walk

Sunday: Run/Walk

Monday: Walk 40 minutes

Tuesday: Strength Training

I’m looking to add in more runs and walks as the weather stays nice and keep up with my strength training. I’d like to be able to run a continous 5K by the end of March.

GoalsΒ for Next Week:

  • Stick to my 30 weekly pointsplus budget
  • Get 15+ activity points–it would be awesome if I could get 20!
  • Track, track, track. Honestly, I put this every week, but it really is the key to being successful. You can’t kid yourself, you have to work the plan and that is tracking!

I’ve lost a total of 6 pounds over 5 weeks (even with a setback) and I’m pleased with that! I know that weight loss is a slow process and I don’t have a body type that sheds weight quickly or easily. I’ve just got to keep putting the work in and let the results come.

Also in a non-scale victory, I did six military style pushups!! What?! That is more than I’ve ever done in my life. I’m pretty excited!

Do you tend to lose weight quickly or slowly? (If it’s quickly I officially hate you. Jk. I’m just extremely jealous!)

  1. So glad you like my workout! Writing up another one right now actually that is in the same format as that one. Good for you for losing 6 lbs. I have not lost anything at all in the past few weeks which has been so frustrating!

    1. When you finish that book I’ll be the first in line. πŸ˜‰ Are you still doing WW? I think being absolutely honest and writing everything down (even as much as small bites and snacks that we’re like oh, that’s not a big deal or whatever) is the difference for me. It’s also been nice to have it warmer so I can get outside and walk for pleasure–every little bit helps!

    1. 1.2 exactly! I’d like to have a little more, but honestly I can’t complain. If I was more rigid I’d probably feel deprived and end up eating a whole pan of brownies anyway. haha!

  3. Great Job on your loss! Keep up the good work. I lose weight slower as I’ve gotten older and when I count calories and am strict it’s easier I like food so calorie counting is hard for me so I just try to eat healthy foods

    1. I like foood tooooo!! I think that if I’m not tracking my portion sizes and “oh, it’s only this once” treats get out of hand. I think it’s key to realize and accept what works for your brain and your body! Sounds like you’ve got that figured out which is awesome! πŸ˜€

  4. After my last baby 3 yrs ago I lost 48 pounds. It took me a year to do so. With diet and exercise. It was a struggle for sure. As of now 2 years of maintaining the most of my weight loss. I’ve inched up 20#’s. Now struggling to get this weight down at least 10#’s! In the last month I have lost a whole pound. Ugh very frustrating but tracking tracking tracking helps keep me honest.
    The one positive is that we are eating healthier and gluten free. I joined my husband in a weight loss challenge at his work in doing that he has lost 12#’s!
    Hoping to add more outdoor exercise for our family!

    1. The things we do for these kids! πŸ˜‰ Haha! Making healthy eating the norm is tough, but it’s awesome that your husband is on board and wanting to lose weight too! And yes, now that it is warmer it’s so much easier to get out and get moving! See you tomorrow!

  5. Congrats on your scale and non-scale victories! It took me quite some time to loose weight after my son was born. (He’s 7 now) It’s a slow process just be patient with yourself!

    I’ve been in an exercize slump since fall. I need to pull it together and restart. I’ve gained back everything I lost after I stopped nursing.
    Your blog is so upbeat and motivating though! I emailed my trainer at work to set up a time. πŸ™‚

    1. Aw thank you! It has been such a looong process, but maybe I’ll get it figured out so next time this won’t take a year plus. You are wearing LOTS of hats right now, you are so impressive, but it IS so nice that it’s getting warmer so it’s easier to get out and do stuff. And having a work trainer doesn’t hurt either. πŸ™‚
