  • Cookies:
  • 1/2 cup cup softened butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 T milk If needed; when I made this batter for some reason it was drier than usual so I added a tablespoon of milk to compensate. Generally it shouldn't need it.
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • Filling:
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts I do mine in the food processor for just a few seconds
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Glaze:
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 T water
  • Splash of vanilla

  • Cream butter, sugar, egg and vanilla together until smooth. Add in flour, salt, and baking soda and stir until dough forms. Roll into ball about the size of a walnut. Form a small "well" in each cookie (I poke my finger in the center and then form the well around that.) Combine filling ingredients in a small bowl. Mix until combined. Fill each cookie well with filling, about 1-2 teaspoons per cookie. Bake at 350 for 11-12 minutes. Top with glaze.
