Zensah Compression Socks Review and Giveaway
Disclaimer: I was provided a pair of Zensah compression socks as compensation for this review and giveaway. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
As I’ve been training for my marathon, I’ve been running with the Kalamazoo Area Runner’s Beyond training group. What I love about the group is not only the extra accountability, pre-planned routes, great people, fuel stops, and freebies, but the amazing opportunity to pick the brains of more experienced runners. I mean, where are they going for the next few hours?!?
One piece of advice that I was frequently hearing was to wear compression socks. Hmm…great advice, but which ones? Would it really work? Well thanks to the kind folks at Zensah I was able to experience the compression goodness for myself!
My socks came while I was at work, but I put them on anyways…
Note to self: if you are wearing skinny jeans, you will need to go to the bathroom to put your compression socks on.
A little about Zensah compression socks in their own words:
“Zensah compression socks are knee high compression socks and make use of graduated compression to enhance blood circulation and oxygen flow to increase athletic performance. With Zensah Compression Socks, you are able to run farther, bike longer, and train harder. The compression socks are also great for those on their feet all day or traveling.”
Okay, things I like about the Zensah Compression Socks:
- They were very supportive, especially in the around the toes and heels.
- They come in lots of cute colors—including neon! I rocked my socks after my long run on Saturday in my wedding day dress all the way from Kzoo to Fort Wayne. I got some nice looks at Subway and the gas station.
- I also really liked the nice left and right marks on the socks. Just in case your brain is fuzzy.
- The Zensah compression socks worked! After my long run I stretched, put on the socks, drove 2 hours, and was ready to dance just a few hours later. I was impressed by how minimal my soreness was! They worked better than my ice bath last week; and I don’t know about you, but I will take wearing over socks over an ice bath any day!
Best news of all? The kind folks at Zensah are giving a pair of their awesome compression socks away to one of my readers! Awesome!
Be sure to check out Zensah on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.
My most recommended running gear is SOCKS! I wear Balega 95% of the time and highly recommend them. I haven’t tried compression socks yet, but I keep thinking I want to!
Hmm…I’ll have to check them out, I have yet to find the perfect long run sock that prevents blisters…
My post important running gear is my sneakers. I’ve been running in Mizuno Wave Riders for over a year and it has made a HUGE difference in minimizing injuries. I’m on my 3rd pair and need another pair soon!
Oh yeah, the right shoes are huge! Glad you found your match made in shoe heaven! 😉
I really recommend compression gear too, especially for marathon training. I LIVE in my compression socks right now. I have the hot pink tie dye Zensah sleeves and love them. They are so fun!
Do you use arms sleeves?
The right shoes!!
Amen, sister!
Hi love compression socks & sleeves. I have a pair of pink CEPs on right now! This is my marathon training peak week and my legs could use the lovin’! I’d love to try the Zensah’s, they look cute!
Yeah, they do have great colors! What marathon are you training for?
Ever since I started wearing compression gear, I have been in love! I can’t run without them and my beloved Mizunos!
I love my compression. I wear Zensah sleeve almost every day! And I could not live without my Mizuno shoes!
That’s aweseome!
My favorite running gear item currently is my phone. Nerdy and fit – that’s me.
I’m with you on that one–I like all the apps, music, and security of knowing I can call someone if I can’t finish! 😉
I have a secret use for compression socks – the night BEFORE a race! It may be purely psychological, but I tell myself I’m pre-covering (hmmm, I should copyright that)! I tend to feel fresher when I start.
My must have running gear would be moisture wicking underwear…some areas absolutely need to remain chafe-free! 🙂
I am always looking for some decent socks, although never worn compression socks (yet!)
For me it is a good comfy pair of Nike shoes
KT tape is my must-have. It has soooo drastically reduced the pain from my tendonitis and helped me get back to running after suffering a toe injury in February!
Interesting…I’ve never tried it, but have a running buddy that uses it regularly for plantar facitis management.
If you have any sort of pain at all, it’s definitely worth a try!
OOohhhh……I would love to enter, but sadly I don’t use Twitter.
I’ll enter it for you. I normally do a couple dummy entries for people who either don’t have twitter or have trouble registering. Then if I win you actually win. 😀
If your looking for a good sock to prevent blisters Balega is a good choice but so is Injinji. I was skeptical about Injinji, thought that the toe box would tighten up too much but they work out great. One piece of running “gear” I cannot live without is my Garmin, especially for interval work! Thanks for the chance to win these compression socks, I have yet to try Zensah.
I just got a pair of Injinji socks–they didn’t seem to help my blisters that much, I think just cause my blisters are all on the outer part of my foot, but who knows..I’m working through it. 🙂 I would LOVE a Garmin! Thanks for entering!
I always, always put Body Glide on my feet right before I put on my running socks. It has helped me tremendously!
my spibelt. I love it!
I’ve seen a few reviews on them–I love how low profile they are!
Love compression socks! I notice such a difference in soreness after my long runs when I wear compression socks.
Anything that plays music! I love working out with music. I usually use my iPhone and then map my bikes and runs too! I also love my Nike Lunarglides… my fav sneakers ever!
After running a race on Castaway Cay island on Tuesday, I’ve realized that I NEED the GPS part of my Runkeeper app. There were no mile markers either so I had no clue what my pace was and I went out too fast!
Eep! Yeah, that would be no good! I’d love a Garmin but I use the nike app.
Other than good-for-you shoes, compression socks are awesome! Would love to try out Zensah.
My most recommended fitness gear is good shoes. I love to have comfortable (and cute!) shoes!
For sure!!
well, clearly the shoe is the most important, unless you are a barefoot runner, I guess! 🙂 But I LOVE my compression sleeves! I hope I win!
You will not beat a good shoe! I’m so okay with spending a good amount of money on good shoes–we’re going to spend a lot of bonding time together!
Foam rollers and compression gears are my favorite.
Compression socks! Who would have ever thought that phrase would have gotten my attention?!? I thought compression socks were for older people with circulation issues…and now I want some (of course, they come in such neat colors now!)
They’re good for that too! And for long travels! 🙂
I agree with Elle, once you have found the perfect shoe, then I HIGHLY recommend compression gear of all kinds!
Brooks, moving comfort sports bra, honey stingers and nuun!
My favorite running gear right now are my under armour heat gear capris! So comfortable and they keep me cool!
Wow! That compression socks look great! I love the color and the design. Actually I love Zensah socks and often buy them online at Legs Therapy (http://www.legstherapy.com/). They are a great cure in swelling and blisters, eh. 🙂
I love compression socks… they prevent my shin splints for sure! They’d be on the top of my list of recommendations… I’d also have to say that it’s important to have good shoes… and replace them when they wear out!
I hate running, so a good attitude 🙂
I love my Polar HRM! It’s my must-have fitness gear. And I just started using compression socks, post-runs, and love them. I could always use more. Fingers crossed to win another pair!!
Good supportive shoes! The brand will be differnt for eerybody, but they are a must!
I am a true believer in compression. I really think its helps aid in recovery!
REI gear and a great pair of shoes are a must. These socks look awesome.
I love dry fit shirts
Good sports bra! I have a few that I really like and have bought duplicates to wear when not running!
Most recommended running gear would definitely be good shoes–if your feet hurt, running’s a tad difficult. 🙂 Something else that I think is super helpful is a nice sweat-wicking shirt and shorts (but, of course, not necessary!).
I highly recommend a good hat or headband to help absorb sweat and keep it out of your eyes!

My most recommended running gear would be water!
Good shoes and a good pair of running shorts/pants. Always makes a huge difference when you are comfortable with what you are wearing.
Good shoes and music!
