NIV Beautiful Word Bible Review: A Coloring & Journaling Bible
I was gifted a copy of the gorgeous new NIV Beautiful Word Bible to review and giveaway and it was a delight to dive into this thoughtfully and artistically designed Bible.
My Unbiased Review of the NIV Beautiful Word Bible
The first thing I noticed as I opened the box was the beautiful front cover. I recieved a copy of the wildflower design on a pink leather background. It truly is breathtaking. I’m quite partial to daisies, so I especially loved this cover! The lay-flat cover is a huge bonus, too—it stays open beautifully whether you’re reading, studying, or doing a little creative dabbling in the margins.
Included Artwork and Illustrations
Once inside, the feature that truly sets this Bible apart is the wide margins filled with ready-to-color illustrations. With over 600 illustrated verses, there’s art woven through its pages—made to slow you down, quiet your soul, and give you space to breathe, reset, and engage with God’s Word. I’ve always admired the idea of Bible journaling, but when I’ve tried to create those Pinterest-worthy pages myself… well, it’s never quite matched the picture in my head. These line-art designs take all the pressure off and let you focus on the Scripture instead of perfection.

Pages and Pens
I tested several pages with my trusty Paper Mate pens, and my preteen daughter “helped” by trying both colored pencils and fine-point pens. She insisted that fine tips or sharp colored pencils were essential for the detailed lines—and she’s right! There is some expected bleed-through with markers, but honestly, no more than any other journaling Bible I’ve owned. The pages are thick, bright, and lovely to write on, with lightly ruled margins when there isn’t artwork.
What I love most is how this Bible blends creativity and Scripture in such a simple, meaningful way. Coloring the verses became a surprisingly calming practice for me—a gentle pause in the day where I could reflect, pray, and let God’s Word settle a little deeper.
