Easter 2015 Weekend Recap
We had a fantastic Easter weekend with our family again this year! The past few years whoever has been able of our family has gotten together at “our lake” for Easter weekend!
We kicked off the weekend on Thursday night with a date night at an amazing Kalamazoo restaurant called Food Dance. It was awesome for Nate and I just to sit, savor and enjoy each other’s company. Sorry I am a bad blogger and have no pictures. We ate food and it was yummy. Just trust me.
Then we capped of our date with Target shopping. I can honestly say that shopping without a baby is one of my favorite things. Literally.
On Friday I worked at my camp job and then got to do a long workout thanks to Grandma holding down naptime. Then everyone arrived and we fired up the grill for dinner and low key hang out time.
On Saturday morning we woke up and enjoyed this caramel apple baked oatmeal and coffee, then headed out to our church’s Easter egg hunt! There were over 10,000 eggs! Layla picked up 3. Haha!
My nieces did a little better with picking up the eggs since they’re a bit older and they were more excited about the candy! They were all so cute!
Saturday night we had a make your own pizza night! It was super-yummy and my pizza was PERFECT: red onions, mushrooms, peppers, a bit of bacon, pepperoni and a sprinkle of sausage. It was an explosion of deliciousness.
After pizza we had some family bowling time! And yours truly had the high score!! It was basically a miracle! (A miracle provided by the fact I was playing on the kids lane with bumpers, but still!)
Easter morning we got ready and went to church where Nate was playing the guitar for both of our church’s services. It was a really joyful, moving time. And Layla was darling in her Easter dress! So crazy that last Easter she was such a tiny thing!
We ended the weekend with a family walk and blowing bubbles on the deck. We got lots of cousin cuteness going on too! It’s fun to see Layla growing up and interacting more with her extended family.
We are incredibly blessed. And a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the love of my life!! I’m so happy got brought us together and we get to go on this adventure called life, love, parenting, service, and family together.
What did you do this Easter weekend?
