Friday Loves
Time for my weekly Friday Loves—all the things that I’ve found particularly cute, interesting, wise, or tasty this week! Enjoy!
Posts and Podcasts
What’s Your Belly Type? 4 Problems, 4 Solutions by Bonnie Pfiestsr of pFITblog.com. Really informative article about types of belly fat and different solutions that can help eliminate them. I’m definitely working on my posture and overall fitness to trim down the tummy! Haha! And that dudes face!! We’ve all been there, buddy.
Creating a Perfect Salad by Gina of the Fitnessista.com. Salad is tricky. I’m definitely going to be taking some tips from Gina about how to incorporate fats and proteins in my salad so they leave me full and satisfied, not raiding the snack bar at work!
11 Workouts That Multitask Too by Tina from Carrots N Cake. I love lists and I love Tina’s list of easy ways to multitask during your workout like listening to informative podcasts or having a girl date while taking a walk or speed cleaning your house to get your heart rate up!
The Easy Guide to Workout Hair by yours truly! Lots of fun tips for styling your locks while getting your sweat on! Also, be sure to check out the comment section for some more great workout hair ideas.
The Balanced Bites Podcast. I like this super-fun podcast! I’m trying to learn more about possibly incorporating more Paleo foods into my diet or eliminating the non-Paleo foods or whatnot. haha! Like I said, I’m still learning. Since I don’t eat dairy now anyways I feel like it would be easy to transition out of grains at meals, maybe starting with dinner and working my way to lunch and dinner. And, yeah, breakfast I may never be able to give up my oatmeal, but there are worse things to eat for breakfast. Diane and Liz seem very reasonable and the podcast has so far been a good venue for learning about eating quality foods and avoiding “the bad stuff”!
Random Goodness
Judah “Little Bear” Scott. This little man joined his two rambunctious brothers down in Texas on Monday. Isn’t he precious? The Scott boys have such sweet, chubby cheeks! I just wanna kiss them!
Wisdom from Amy. This quote really goes along with my lesson in thankfulness-we have so much why do we scrape at each other? And seriously, Amy Poehler is just the best, isn’t she?
Red Velvet Cupcakes. While I can’t find the original pin I used to make these Red Velvet cupcakes it was incredibly easy—instead adding the ingredients listed on the box add 6 ounces of nonfat Greek yogurt (plain or vanilla), 1 cup water, and 1 egg. Follow the rest of the directions normally. These turned out scrumptious! And I topped them with cream cheese frosting—cause you’ve gotta live a little.
Friends you can do anything with. Like drill a hole in the lake, stick a Christmas tree in the ice, and set it on fire with a blowtorch—these are the type of people to have in your life.
Happy Friday!!
What do you LOVE today?
Loved the salad page. Dad and I have been eating lots of salads and soups. I need to mix it up and try out some of her suggestions. Also, I loved the burning the Christmas tree idea/photo. How fun is that!?! Even cooler than walking on ice!!
Haha! It was very cool–and cold. The boys stayed outside and played on the ice for another hour, the smart girls went inside, drank hot chocolate and played cards. 😉
Neat workout hair would be very nice indeed! I liked those salad tips too 🙂
Cutest baby ever! What an adorable little man 🙂
Good day! I know this is kind of off topic but
I was wondering which blog platform are you using for this website?
I’m getting sick and tired of WordPress because I’ve had issues
with hackers and I’m looking at alternatives for another platform.
I would be fantastic if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.
I’m afraid I can’t help. I’m on WP. I did have good success with blogger before this though.
